(Pyros pyriflolia)a fruit looking like a cross between an apple and a pear, with orangish-brown skin with small yellow dots. It is in fact a variety of pear that is Eastern in origin. The pulp is yellowish-white and has several seeds in the centre. The nashi’s taste is similar to that of the pear.
